International fame hit Ballyfermot two weeks ago, when local tattoo artist, Eddie ‘The Bull’ O’Connor, won a coveted trophy at the annual World Tattoo Convention at the D4 hotel in Dublin.

It has been a good run lately for the Ballyneety Road man who has seen his Crazy Cats studio grow steadily since opening back in 2005. Punters are coming from as far as Limerick to get their work done in the comfortable surroundings of Eddie’s ‘cribs’ style premises on Le Fanu Road.

The Bull reckons that it is down to basic business sense, telling The Ballyfermot Press “we are that bit cheaper because we’re so busy, people know now that we offer the best free-hand design around”.
A stunning snake design, that took an astonishing 12 hours and six sessions to complete, won ‘Best Female Leg Award’ at the prestigious event. Eddie adorned the winning creation on on pretty ‘victim’ Michelle Healy from Co Meath.

It was first time lucky at the convention for the Crazy Cats owner, who learned his trade under ‘Oul’ Johnny Eagle’ at the infamous Mint, on Henry Street back in the early 90s.
